Description
I think it would be handy in the cases like showing distance markers along a line that the marker line has the ability to render markers at a interval with the distance being in map units.
This would allow you to render a point every 10m for example without creating a new static point layer.

Too bad there is no commit reference in this bug system so we can see what files are involved, and somehow figure out what part of Qgis you fellows are talking about above in order to try it out.
