Description
Random color ramps were added sometime in the 2.x series. Currently, the user selects a random color ramp as an alternative to a pre-defined ramp. However, there are cases where the user may want to select a specific color ramp and then assign the colors of that ramp randomly to features in the layer. For example, the user may have a palette of subdued colors, or only want random blues. This setting should also have a check against adjacent features being assigned the same color.
This would be an option in the selection box at the top of the Style tab, next to the Single Symbol, Categorized, etc. options.
