The 'allow null value' option in the Value relation widget doesn't get saved in the project

Description
The 'allow null value' option in the Value relation widget doesn't get saved in the project.
It all works well at first, but saving and reopening the project drops the 'checked' from the option.
Tested with generated and custom forms. Windows, QGIS master installed with osgeo4w 64 bit.
