Change data source of a vector layer

Description
When you open the properties view of a vector layer, you can see a tab named "Source"
but you cannot modify/edit the source of the layer's data to make the layer's view change/update accordingly
That's too bad because when you open (for instance) a geojson feed coming from a web api, it would be really great to see the map's view change based on your changes inside the api's request (parameters)
